Resolute Insecurity

I think I must really love the Vietnam chapter in American history, because 'Rooster' seems to constantly be in the background of my head. 'you know he ain't gonnuh die: no, no, no: no he ain't gonnuh die....'


This drawing's image music is The theme from Gattaca, Howl's Moving Castle, and the scores from Phantom of the Opera, also 'Mother' from Danzig.

This an especially personal peice, dealing with the main character, Jak Grinsen's romantic torment in excruciating but intimate delicacy.
The thorns are a metaphor for jak's hatred against humanity. The title ,resolute insecurity, is understood by breaking down the base word, 'security'. Red is a color I utilize constantly with this character and everyone associated with him, such as the Mors, Airial, Arteth, and so on. This is just a form of association, like what Guiermo Del Toro does in Hell boy, which is a movie I really like, and do draw on for inspiration.
